Have you ever wondered if there is an art or science to building trust with people… Well there is!  For many it comes naturally, for others it needs to be learned.  The foundation of any relationship, whether it be with a spouse, family member or friend… is TRUST!

Trust is not something that can be built with quick fix techniques or cookie-cutter actions.  Rather, it is something that is cultivated, like a small seed, through consistent nurturing habits in your interactions.

Here are three quick tips to strengthen and develop better relationships in your life today:

Tip #1 – Maintain Integrity.  It’s very common for people to naturally gravitate to those who are genuinely committed to maintaining integrity.  Integrity is that aspect of a person’s character that brands him or her as honest and straightforward.  The foundation of integrity is a high level of self-awareness and acceptance.  As such, when our agency has integrity, our entire team responds from the same set of values and principles, doing what’s ‘right’ rather than what is more personally rewarding.

Tip #2 – Get Connected.  While speaking with someone you should look for things that you have in common with them to build a connection.  Far too often, we find ourselves in a conversation with a friend, peer or patient talking all about ourselves verses learning more about the person.

Tip #3 – Go The Extra Mile.  Building trust does not happen overnight.  It’s a process.  It is built over time by serving others and doing what is right.  By making an effort to preform small acts of kindness and showing your love and care for others, you’ll earn long-lasting trust.  By going the extra mile, you can fast track the trust-building process.

You may have noticed recently that auto insurance rates keep rising, even for people that are safe drivers – you know, people like YOU who haven't filed a claim in years. Unfortuneatly, the auto insurance industry in general seems to be ratcheting up the rates. We sometimes receive questions from our clients asking why this is the case. The short answer is that insurance companies are paying out more in auto claims than they have in the past. Here are a few of the reasons why:

  • The number of miles being driven has increased significantly. In fact, in 2015 Americans recorded 3.148 trillion miles driven. That's up 3.5% over 2014, the largest annual increase in 25 years. This is in part due to lower gas prices.
  • Approxiamately 17.5 million new vehicles were sold in the U.S. in 2015. That's up 5.7% over 2014. Newer cars have advanced technology and are more expensive to repair.

  •  The average cost of bodily injury claims has risen sharply over the past few years. Between the years 2005 and 2013 the average cost of a claim increased 32.1%. Part of this increase is due to increases in accident severity and cost of medical care.
  • Distracted Drivers! 1 in 4 car crashes involve cell phone use.

Many people start the day not so much inspired as angry, frustrated, grumpy and irritated at having to get out of bed in the morning. Happily there are some changes you can make to your morning routine to try and change those morning blues into something rather more positive.
For instance, one method of preventing yourself from starting to stress out the moment you open your eyes is to avoid looking at phone messages or emails for at least fifteen minutes after you have woken up. Whatever it is, it can wait.

Another good piece of advice is to lie in bed and make a mental list of a minimum of five things for which you are grateful in your life. Keeping yourself grounded in an attitude of gratitude for the good things about your life is a great way to change your attitude for the better.

It is also important to snatch at least fifteen minutes of the day for yourself, in which you can just either lie or sit down and gently breathe and meditate. This simple trick can help to calm your mind and body, resulting in a greater sense of emotional balance and general feeling of wellness.?


You do not have to revamp your whole routine in order to be healthier, a mistaken thought that often defeats many people who would like to get healthier before they have even begun. The truth is that a few small changes that are easy to make can result in enormous health benefits over time.
 

One good tip is to start your day with a drink of lemon water. Just squeeze some lemon into a big glass of water and drink it; it sounds incredibly easy but this simple act can help to encourage digestion and give a boost to your immune system due to the Vitamin C in the lemon.

 
Most people snack when they feel hungry but sadly the easiest snacks to just pick up and eat are often the unhealthy choices. It is a good idea to do some preparation work for those hungry moments ahead of time by having something healthy like fresh fruits and vegetables at eye level in the fridge and leave the less healthy options out of sight and for special occasions only.
 
Unsweetened dark chocolate is good for you! Not only does it have less calories but it also comes with a higher concentration of flavanols, which dilate blood vessels, enabling more blood and oxygen to reach your brain and actually increase alertness.
